Fall Festival

Yesterday, Elfant Wissahickon Realtors participated in the annual Chestnut Hill Fall for the Arts Festival. Many of our agents and our colleagues were out on the Avenue meeting festival goers.  This was our first Fall festival since opening our headquarters at 8039 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill!

The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the Avenue was packed with people enjoying all the Festival has to offer.

As always, our booth attracted lots of people interested in our extensive inventory of available homes.  The kids loved our open house balloons.  Our agents had great conversation with lots of attendees and enjoyed the interaction with the local community.

I’d like to take this time to thank everyone who participated yesterday; as a result of the support of our agents and staff, the festival was extremely successful.

Thank you to Kaya Simmons, Kristin Stever, Chas Hendricksen, Peggy Brooks, Karrie Gavin, Marilyn Silberstein, Anita Lam, Larry DiFranco, Nick Claxton, Sandra Ongaro, Amy Greenstein, Jan LeSuer, John O’Connell, Melinda Coughlin and Bob Elfant!

Kind words

I wrote last week about the Chestnut Hill Garden Festival, and the booths we set up outside of our office on Germantown Avenue.  The arts demonstration held by artist Terri Greenberg was very well received!  She posted on her own blog about it, and I encourage you to check it out here.

Spring Festivals

Last Sunday, Elfant Wissahickon Realtors participated in the annual Chestnut Hill Home and Garden Festival. Many of our agents and our colleagues were out on the Avenue meeting festival goers.

We staffed one booth on the avenue with promotional materials and photo sheets of our Distinguished Homes – the first appearance of a new marketing campaign we’re rolling out to highlight our prestigious, high-end listings. The weather was wonderful and the kids loved our open house balloons.  Our agents had great conversation with lots of attendees!

Outside of our new building at 8039 Germantown Avenue, we set up three additional booths featuring:

  • the Art of Financing your Home, hosted by John Coneys of Superior Mortgage, Craig Smith of Mortgage Master and Matt Lynch of First Choice Bank
  • the Art of Staging your Home, hosted by professional stagers Starr Osborne of Tailored Transitions and Sandra Ongaro of First Impressions
  • and the Art of Zentangle, hosted by artist Terri Greenberg

This Saturday, our agents will be out again at Mt Airy Day on the grounds of the historic Cliveden estate on the 6400 block of Germantown Avenue.  Mt Airy Day is always a great time and we hope to see you there!  If you have any questions about buying or selling a home, please stop by our booth.

All welcome on Forbidden Drive

One of the great things about living and working in the Northwest Section of Philadelphia is the escape that Valley Green and Fairmount park provide. I keep myself somewhat sane and somewhat fit by going for a run through the park a few days a week. Forbidden Drive, as it winds through Fairmount Park, has to be one of the most picturesque spots in the city of Philadelphia to get exercise. Three or four days a week I’m down in the park getting my workout in and enjoying all the nature the park has to offer. Often on my runs, I meet past and present clients taking advantage of this great park.

This past week I had clients who were transferring in from out of state, after I showed them a number of houses throughout the Northwest (Chestnut Hill, Mt Airy. East Falls), I decided to take them to lunch at The Valley Green Inn which is located on Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon. My clients were so impressed with the scenery and also the fact that all the surrounding neighborhoods had easy access into the park. They haven’t settled on a house yet but they surely know they want to be walking distance to the park and all its hidden treasures. They said regarding the park, “what a beautiful backyard it makes!”

Whether you are new to the area or have lived in the Northwest all your life, do yourself a favor, take advantage of this wonderful escape located right here in your own backyard…
